Whats Next?

Existing Market:

I think what’s next for this product is to figure out how many people use the blue emergency light and to start the designing the app. After interviewing many people, the first interviewee explains that she thinks this app should be an app that you can access from the lock screen. The second interview, explained that it should not have advertisements to interrupt the process. Lastly, they explained that you should not have to pay for the app. I think this app would be used by many students around many different campuses. After having many different interviews with many different people, the feedback I received is very helpful. They believe that this idea is so important for students who are put in a dangerous situation. I would have to work on advertising the app and explaining why it is important to have. Marketing this app is what is so important to this idea and would have to think of strategies to market this idea on social media platforms.

New Market:

Although, I believe this market would target college students. I also think it would target anyone who lives alone, or in a secluded area. This product would be valuable to these people as well, because it’s not an app for students to use while walking alone on campus, it can be if you’re walking alone anywhere or in a dangerous situation anywhere for that matter. The first person I interviewed was someone from my town, she finds herself walking to her friend’s house late at night and would feel much safer with this app. The second person was someone who lives in New York City and is always Ubering alone. They feel that this is dangerous after hearing stories and stuff and that this app could prevent them from being that person in that situation. I learned that there is a bigger market than who I thought this app would benefit. It surprised me that there is no age limit on this app and that any-one who is every put in an uncomfortable situation can use the app. Everyone I spoke to seems to be attracted to the app and thinks that it is an amazing idea for anyone who does have a smartphone.
