Venture Concept No. 2

The lack of the blue emergency lights on Fraternity Row at the University of Florida, has given me the idea to create an app that would work just like the blue emergency lights. It is believed that every student would benefit from this. The app would be free to download, useable without WIFI connection where you can access it from the touch of your lock screen and would have police be able to track down your location and locate you if needed. This app would only be used if you feel as if you are in a bad or uncomfortable situation. This app would be better than the emergency stands, especially in today’s society where everyone has a smartphone and is always using it. The market would stick out particularly to college age students who are often found walking alone on campus especially during the night time. Currently students are using the blue emergency lights if they need to, but if this was an app they would be able to use it right off their smartphone device. I believe this is a big opportunity because it will make people feel safer and prevent one from being stuck in a bad situation. This would be an app that is always accessible and downloaded for free to the consumer. Because this app would be free to download, and it would make money by having advertisements and sponsors due to the fact that many people would support the app.  Many people would switch to this app due to the convenience.  I don’t believe there would be any competitors in this situation. This app would have to be advertised throughout universities and social media platforms. I believe in order to make this app into reality I would have to look into how many people would use this app and use the blue emergency light to see if it is beneficial in the end.
After receiving feedback, I decided to keep the app the same, but change one thing. The feedback I received, I was not expecting. I thought there would be changes in the app or at least a different idea. They explained how they thought it was a great idea and that the explanation I gave regarding the app was very clear. I think that is very helpful when creating an app. It is important to stay organized and have a creative idea in the back of your head. I also believe it is important to give back critical feedback this way you can help each other succeed. After interviewing someone, they gave me the idea that this app needs to have easy access. Therefore, it should be placed on your lock screen for easy access.
It was great to here that other people think this is a great app as well and that they enjoy the idea as much as I do. Me and many other people believe that this app will help many other college students from being placed in a dangerous situation.
I changed my venture concept by adding that this app will be accessible from the lock screen of your smart phone.
I enjoyed the feedback from my peers and it makes me even more confident that many other people will enjoy this app.
