Idea Napkin No. 2
I am a college student who thinks
safety is very important. I am hardworking and want to solve the issue of the
lack of blue emergency lights on campus. My idea was to come up with a blue
emergency light app where you can download it on your phone. You would install
the app on to your smart phone device and it would work exactly like the blue
emergency light button. This app would be linked to the closest police station,
including the university police right when you click the emergency light on
your phone. It would send the police a tracker of your current location for
when you are in the dangerous situation. This app offers an additional safety feature
to anyone who has it especially students who are walking through campus. I think
everyone would like this idea, including students, faculty and parents. I believe
safety is very important especially with things that occur on college campuses
when you are found in a situation alone. You never know the situation that will
occur or what can happen to you, and that’s why this app is so beneficial
because if you are found in that situation this app will help! The benefits for
this service include, help if needed, and allows you to walk around alone
feeling much safer in case something happens.
Based on
the feedback I received, I decided to keep the app and the ideas the same. The two
students, who responded to this loved the idea and explained how having the app
would make students feel more comfortable. They explained how many students are
walking alone on campus especially at night so this app is beneficial and it
does help one of the current issues on campus. I did however explain my value
proposition a little bit more in depth as well as explaining the benefits of
the service for college students.
Hey Jordan! Still loving this idea, but I think there are some more things you can delve into on this idea napkin. You could describe how exactly the service works so if pressing a button on the app would call police, if it could also encompass emergency and fire, or if you can provide descriptions of your emergency. Also you could potentially talk about public funding, since I presume the app would be free. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteHey Jordan,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog post. I think that your idea is so interesting, and I really do believe that this is necessary to improve the safety of UF students. This app will make students feel more comfortable and make everyone feel safe while walking home. You did a great job at describing your idea and how it will work. Overall, you did an awesome job on this blog post.
