Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends
Economic Trends:
B.
I found this article on regulations.gov, a
website where posts are made on federal decisions. This article was about Medicare
programs and changes to the physician fee schedule.
C.
I believe this information suggests an
opportunity might exist because if this law is passed it is important because the
payment systems need to be updated reflecting the medical practice and value of
services.
D.
I think
those who are in the medical practice services and in the Medicare programs are
most likely to be the customers with this opportunity.
E.
I think this opportunity would be relatively easy
to exploit because it’s just changing the way the payment system is run and
making new regulations to the program.
I saw this opportunity because I often
hear many different things about Medicare and after finding this article they
proposed a rule to revise the payment policy and make other policy changes, I thought
this article was interesting because I was unaware of what changes had to be
made.
B.
I found this article on USA today.
The main point of the article is based on the automobile workers going on
strike after not being happy with their working conditions.
C.
I believe the opportunity exists because
when a strike occurs it hurts the economy so there should be rules about strike
so there are no problems with the economy.
D.
The united automobile workers are
the customers in this opportunity.
E.
I believe this would be a relatively
easy opportunity to exploit. I think that because after seeing the issue,
creating a contract to make majority of the workers happy after seeing their
issues could be easier and easier to get their approval after seeing a change.
I saw this as an opportunity because
many times you hear about certain unions going on strike about their pay or
working conditions, and I believe it is time for them to change the regulations
and see the importance of better working conditions.
Regulatory Trends:
B.
I found this article while searching
for regulatory trends. This article is about how Wells Fargo over charged
customers after informing them that they will be closing their accounts.
C.
I believe an opportunity might exist
because after Wells Fargo collecting frees as revenue after the accounts are
being closed should not be occurring and should be something that the
government looks into and makes a rule for the future so this doesn’t happen
again.
D.
I believe Wells Fargo is the
customer with the opportunity.
E.
I believe this will be a relatively
difficult opportunity to exploit because it is going to invest so much time
looking into all of the accounts that were closed with Wells Fargo and the charges
that have occurred within them.
I see this as an opportunity because
this should not be occurring within a bank and there should be regulatory laws
to stop this.
B.
While looking for a regulatory trend
article I came across an article discussing the legalization of marijuana and
the fact that marijuana is legal in many states but still illegal under federal
law.
C.
I believe an opportunity exists because
it is legal in many states, the congress is considering creating an Act which
would protect marijuana business against the federal bank regulations.
D.
I believe Marijuana businesses
within the legal states are the customers of this opportunity.
E.
I believe this will be a relatively difficult
opportunity to exploit because the banking of marijuana is unstable and the marijuana
related banking is also very expensive.
I see this as an opportunity because
as marijuana starts becoming legal in many other states it is going to be
important that there is a fair banking act to protect the investors who are
involved within this business.
I think that your article on identifying opportunities was very interesting. I honestly found the fact that both of your economic trends had opportunities that you listed as being "relatively easy to exploit" and that your regulatory changes had opportunities that were "relatively difficult to exploit". When I did the assignment, I found it harder to find easily exploited opportunities for economic trends. I thought it was easier for regulatory changes to be easier exploited, because they are more of the day to day issues. This being said, again I think your article is interesting and I enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteHello Jordyn, this was a great post. I like the articles you chose for each trend. Each one was very interesting and you did a good job on delivering the information while also keeping it simple. The one that stood out to me was the article about the legalization of marijuana. I believe that as the marijuana industry increases in popularity among investors that there should be adequate regulations that insure the safety of these businesses.
