·
This article is about how outside
hackers, can hack into the University of Florida email and send students and

banners to fix this problem and keep the students and faculty at the university
from being phished on their emails.

Students and activists make posters ahead of
blue light on Fraternity Row
·
After reading this article, I
realized fraternity row has no blue emergency lights. They explain how these
lights keep many student’s safe, especially while walking alone. Fraternity row
is one area of the campus that has no lights located in the area at all. This
area is a secluded area and many students feel the need to have emergency
lights added there.
·
This is a problem because in order
to make sure campus is safe and students feel comfortable walking alone is by
adding blue emergency lights on fraternity row.
·
The students at the University of
Florida are facing this problem while being on fraternity row and not being
able to locate the emergency button in case they had to.

UF resident assistant charged with
battery released as “high- achieving” student leader
·
Milaski, a student at the University
of Florida, raped a female student and went to jail but was soon released
because the judge agreed that he was a “ high- achieving” student leader. This
kid was involved with a lot at University of Florida, he was a teaching
assistant, in a fraternity and also had major homework assignments to do. I
believe he shouldn’t have just been released and that there should be
consequences for the decisions he has made.
·
The problem that is in this story is
that this student sexually assaulted another student with no further
consequences because he is an “high- achieving” student leader.

The students at the University of

The problem is the Amazon rainforest
was burning down and the community in Brazil wasn’t doing anything to fix it.
·
The cities in Brazil are the ones
facing this problem as it is effecting their community.
Hi Jordyn, I think you did well in this post, I think that the articles that you found were very interesting and relevant. I love your blog pages and how they are laid out. I think you did a great job in explaining exactly what each article was about and identifying the problem that had to be, or was being, addressed.
ReplyDeleteIt's really unfortunate that the city is having such a hard time taking action with something that would be beneficial for the environment. And let me tell you, I'm glad that the alligator website is there because I did not want to have to pay Gainesville Sun to read the news haha. In addition, I didn't even know about Milaski. News like this really disappoints me with the justice system not only here in Alachua county, but in the nation as a whole. Milaski, along with Brock Turner are the kinds of guys that need to be locked up, "high achieving students" or not.
ReplyDeleteHello Jordyn, great job with this post! It was well written and the articles you chose were interesting. We even chose two of the same articles! I thought the article about the plastic ban repeal was the most interesting of the 5 you chose. I believe that is an issue that needs to be addressed further. Overall, you did a good job. Can’t wait to read more of your posts!
ReplyDeleteHi Jordyn, these are some really interesting issues, the one that stood out most to me was the Amazon rainforest summit. The forest fires that have been burning there for some time now have gained a great deal of public attention and there is plenty of opportunity in the issues that matter to people. Maybe you can find some way to aid the relief effort through the support of people like Professor Heckenberger. Thanks for bringing attention to this issue!
