Final Reflection

This has been an amazing class to be in. I have learned so much through the many fun and interactive assignments. One of the hardest assignments for me, was the elevator pitch. That is because I get very nervous and uncomfortable when public speaking. After doing it multiple times I was able to get more comfortable and have a better idea of how to do it and improve. I think that is going to be very helpful in the future, when I work in a business and need to speak in front of many people about my ideas. My favorite activity in this class was the first napkin idea. I enjoyed this because this was the first activity where I felt that the idea I was creating was a good idea and that it would actually be beneficial to many consumers. This class has really made me feel as if I am an entrepreneur and I feel as if I have been one. I think that in the future I would be able to use these ideas from these activities to help me create my own business one day. I enjoyed that thi...

Venture Concept No. 2

The lack of the blue emergency lights on Fraternity Row at the University of Florida, has given me the idea to create an app that would work just like the blue emergency lights. It is believed that every student would benefit from this. The app would be free to download, useable without WIFI connection where you can access it from the touch of your lock screen and would have police be able to track down your location and locate you if needed. This app would only be used if you feel as if you are in a bad or uncomfortable situation. This app would be better than the emergency stands, especially in today’s society where everyone has a smartphone and is always using it. The market would stick out particularly to college age students who are often found walking alone on campus especially during the night time. Currently students are using the blue emergency lights if they need to, but if this was an app they would be able to use it right off their smartphone device. I believe t...

Reading Reflection No. 3

I decided to follow the questions of reading reflection No. 2. I chose to read about the art of social media by Guy Kawasaki. This book was about promoting yourself and business on social media. I think this is an important topic especially in today’s times. Many people use social media as a platform to help their business and I think this has a lot to do with what we have learned in ENT3003. Many people have social media accounts, whether it is to promote their customers or even themselves. This has to do with our class because we could use the idea concept we have been creating and use social media to network it for everyone to see and get feedback from other individuals. In this book, it explained that sharing opinions online can be harmful to your business. I agree with that because you can get negative feedback and allows others to see the negative feedback you have received and gives them the wrong idea.
